“Where there’s wool there’s a way”
Day one..

For most of my life I have had a long standing love for all things yarn, since my beloved Nana introduced me to my first ball of yarn and knitting needles.  My Nana not only taught me how to knit but also, unbeknown to her or anyone else for that matter - myself included – equipped me with a skill and means to making a living ,that grew from a much loved hobby  to a career of doing what I love and loving what I do for a living.
My love for knitting grew and my hunger for understanding, fuelled by my inquisitive nature, led me down many a path to new discoveries. With the desire to learn as much as possible about everything fibre and a passion for creating, over the years I taught myself how to adapt and later write patterns in accordance with the designs I dreamt up.  I learnt about the process of wool and eventually started processing my own.  I started working with 100% real unwashed merino, and soon after Angora wool.  From washing, carding, dying, spinning and balling my own wool to creating and knitting my own knit designs. It was at the same time that I learnt how to make felt and that is how I fell in love.  I had discovered my true love - felting.
Today, after many hiccups and life challenges and what seemed like a far off and impossible dream, I can, with pride, introduce myself and my own designed and created FeltArt and Knit-design products to you.  Hi, my name is Bronwyn and I am the Happy Hippie behind Happy Hippie Products.  Welcome  to my colourful and magic infused world, where I believe that where there’s wool, there’s a way.

KEEP CALM - SHEEP HAPPENS...

I have spent the greater part of my life dreaming about living the dream – the dream being living the life I love – loving the life I live.  The most colourful and creative side to me has always been that of a dreamer, forget about “heads in the clouds” and think more along the lines of, “creating a colourful array of clouds” – that’s me.  Always quoting the well known and often used phrase - a phrase I choose to take to heart,  - the common saying, “If you can dream it – you can achieve it”,  I never stopped believing in what seemed to be the impossible for most of as long as I can remember.  Day in and day out I lived my – far from mediator-life, imagining that perfect A-HA moment when I would catch up to my dream and finally own it.
Life challenge after life challenge, one disaster and disappointment after another and many failed attempts later, I found myself in a place of devastation.  It was in and through this desperate time that I found that long time searched for and almost phantom, " A-HA moment'.   It wasn’t in any of the places I imagined it would be found - in fact I found it in the most unlikely of places – in me.  And in a desperate place is where I learnt the most valuable life lessons.  It was during this time that I learnt that; every dream has an expiry date and nothing worth having comes easy.  I learnt that merely dreaming big is not enough - that I need to attach goals with deadlines to the dream if I want to bring it to life.  I realized that if it’s going to be, it’s up to me – no more waiting for some sort of hero or heroic act to make my dreams come alive- I became my own hero.
I read somewhere that, “If your dreams don’t scare you they’re not big enough”, well I was petrified if the truth be told, but the fear of failure finally became a luxury I could not afford anymore.  Dreams can only come true if we have the courage to pursue them.  I had to let my faith become bigger than my fears and I started to look at and see things differently. Where I once saw the impossible, I now see ‘I’m – possible’ instead.
My creed - my mantra if you prefer - became (and still is)” I can and I will!”  I chose to not stop until I am proud.  One day or Day one – the decision was mine to make...I chose 'Day one.'

Felted Soup now available - can also be made according to your preference  Felted Soap is not only a funky gift idea but is also practical.    Felted Soap is exactly what the name implies, it's soap- but with a twist!    It’s a bar of soap wrapped in 100% real wool that has gone through a felting process.  Once felted the wool is adhered to the surface of the soap.   The wool gently exfoliates your skin eliminating the need for a loofah or  wash cloth and whats more is the felted covering around the soap helps prolong the bar of soap, so it lasts longer!
